Promotion hopefuls push on

The promotion chasers in JCK Division Two all underlined their credentials on Saturday.

With runaway leaders Douglas Athletic not in action, it was a chance for some of the other sides to make their case for a promotion push.

Andy Glover was the star as Braddan thrashed Onchan 6-1.

He hit four with Conor Dempsey and Jamie Spicer grabbing the others.

Rob Byrne netted for Onchan.

Castletown put seven past Douglas and District without reply – Andrew Blake, Alex Crawley (three), Mike Kenny (two) and Noah Sansbury on target.

There was a goalfest as Douglas Royal emerged 8-5 winners at Governor’s Athletic.

Hat-tricks from Paul Whitley and Ross McWhinnie and two from Andrew Lancaster fired free-scoring Royal to victory.

Governors gave it their best shot with the prolific Daniel Thirlwell hitting all five of their goals.

Gymns were too strong for Michael in the battle between the two relegated sides from last season.

A Jeremy Lovett hat-trick (including two in as many minutes) and goals from Dan Simpson and Mike Travis sealed a 5-0 win at Balliera Road.

Pulrose United ended up 7-4 home winners over Foxdale.

They took charge after the sides shared four goals in the first half.

Darren Flanagan, Peter Dunn, Barry English, Craig Cowin, Scott Davies and Aaron Raby (two) were on target for the home side.

Foxdale replied through Liam Cannon (two), Charlie Harrison and Gary Smith.

Colby showed no mercy to Malew with an 8-1 triumph at Clagh Vane.

James Collett (three), Jordan Primrose Smith (two) and Stephen Kelly, Marty Moore and Carl Hickey were the goal-getters.

Ashley Egan netted the home consolation.
