Priestnel brace helps Pulrose to 3-1 victory
Pulrose United have secured promotion to the Canada Life Premier League with a 3-1 win over Malew in JCK Division 2.
Pulrose thought they'd opened the scoring moments after kickoff as Marc Priestnel's early effort was on target, but was ruled out for offside.
Steven Priestnel did give the hosts the advantage, but Ste Collister leveled for Malew before the break, leaving the crucial tie finely balanced heading into the second half.
Priestnel bagged a second early in the second half before Owen Canipa opened up a two-goal lead for the home side.
Malew, looking to keep their own promotion hopes alive, pressed in the final minutes as they looked to cut the deficit, but Pulrose held on, ending a 14-season spell in the second tier.
In the other game in JCK Division 2, Ayre United beat Michael United 4-2, with Kieran Quinn scoring both of Michael's goals.
