Manx success in FA County Youth Cup
A three goal burst inside 18 minutes either side of half-time secured a comprehensive victory for the Isle of Man in the second round of the FA County Youth Cup.
They saw off Lancashire 3-0 at the Bowl to avenge last season’s defeat to the same opponents in the competition.
Johnny Quirk opened the scoring after 28 minutes, firing in a loose ball, and that lead doubled within 10 minutes as Sid Batty was held in the box and Jay Skelcher-Maxwell coolly converted from the penalty spot.
Quirk added his second immediately after the re-start, nodding home Jacob Crook’s cross, to put daylight between the sides and that was how it stayed.
The Island will face another home tie in the third round.
Manager Lewis Qualtrough said they overcame early nerves really well.
