Rally Isle of Man success for Cronin

Irishman Keith Cronin and Barry McNulty have won Rally Isle of Man 2010 in comprehensive style.

They finished one minute and 38 seconds ahead of Gwyndaf Evans and Gareth Roberts – who had been the event’s early pacesetters before an accident on stage six dropped them well down the field.

Jason Pritchard and Robbie Durant were third with Nigel and Michaela Cannell the best locals in 11th spot.

Molly and Coral Taylor were 14th, David Harrison and John Connor 18th and Rob Callin and Chris Reynolds 19th.

Cronin was thrilled with his success:

The Historic Rally was won by Jonathan Gale and James Whitaker who finished one minute and ten seconds ahead of Dessie Nutt and Geraldine McBride – who had been bidding for a fifth successive victory.

Rikki Proffitt and Barry Green were third with David Mylchreest and Allan Cathers the best locals in sixth.

Former winners David Stokes and Guy Weaver led from start to finish in the category two class – one minute and 45 seconds ahead of Rupert Lomax and David Alcock.

And there was a thrilling success for Ryan Barrett and Paul McCann who overturned a big deficit in the category three event to take the honours from Darren Moon and Chris Parsons.

Guy Woodcock and John Skinner were in fourth spot.

Martyn Jones and Martin Burns took the Manx Challenge Rally ahead of Stu Bainborough/Chris Heyes and third placed Guy Simpkiss/Debbie Perry.

The local finishers were David Radcliffe/Will Rand in fourth spot; Cathy and David Craine in fifth; Andrew Holmes and Stephen Fox in sixth and James Quirk and Ed Kennaugh in seventh.

Richard Archer and Ashley Trimble won the IoM Challenge Rally.
