Second in Race One of final round good enough
Jonathan Rea has become the first rider since Carl Fogarty in 1999 to win successive World Superbikes titles as he finished second in Qatar.
Welshman Chaz Davies won the race as the Castletown resident secured an unassailable 55-point lead going into the final race of 2016 on Sunday.
Rea, who came into the final round with a 48-point advantage over Kawasaki team-mate Tom Sykes, produced another polished performance under the floodlights.
