Rea signs new deal with Kawasaki

Rea Tweeted this picture of him and his crew celebrating his new deal

Two-year contract agreed

Jonathan Rea has ended speculation about his future, after signing a new, two-year contract to remain with Kawasaki's factory team in the Superbike World Championship.

The 31-year-old Northern Irishman, who lives in Castletown, has won the last three titles with the outfit, and is well on course to do it again this season.

Tweeting news of the deal, he said he was, "So happy and excited to keep riding my ZX-10RR and working with the best crew in the world."

Meanwhile, the latest round of the championship was a mixed one for Rea at the weekend.

He won the first race in Brno, Czech Republic, to break Carl Fogarty's record for World Superbike victories, but crashed out of the second one after colliding with his Kawasaki team mate Tom Sykes.

Rea wasn't injured, but didn't resume the race.
