Manx side win at Lymm to add more silverware this season
Douglas Rugby Club have won this season's Cheshire Vase after victory over Wilmslow in the final of the competition last weekend.
The Island side ran out as convincing 47-22 winners over their Cheshire-based opponents during the final showdown held at Lymm RFC on Saturday, 9 May.
It's yet more silverware for the Manx club this campaign after the Douglas Celts squad also lifted the Hartford Homes Manx Cup in April.
It also follows a season in which the Douglas first team recorded its highest ever finish in Regional 2 North West, ending the campaign in fifth spot to reach the promotion play-offs before defeat in the play-off semi-finals at Vale of Lune last month.
Separately, Douglas RUFC is also on the lookout for new players to join the club ahead of the next campaign in 2026/27.
The club says it's looking for 'quality' individuals with 'high level experience' to 'lead our young squad to the next level.'
Anyone who feels they meet the criteria is invited to get in touch via email on harry@douglasrufc.com.
