Ramsey edge out Vagabonds in Manx Trophy

Douglas claimed three points on the road at Altrincham Kersal despite training 19-0 at half time. Speedster Kyle Martin ran in two second half tries for Douglas, replacement Harry Hewson weighed in with one and Rob Todd claimed one for the front row. Luke Hyland’s boot chipped in with four conversions and a penalty. Douglas remain bottom of North One West after those around them picked up points but they trail Broughton Park by just a point and the two teams meet next week at Port-e-Chee.

Ramsey squeeze out Vagabonds in Ravenscroft Manx Trophy

Ramsey beat Vagabonds 27-3 at the Mooragh Park in a much closer game than their last meeting. Vagas led early on through a Luca Simmons penalty. Callum Clague hit back with a try for Ramsey who led 5-3 after half an hour. In the ten minutes before half time though Ramsey hit the throttle. James Wren went in for the first of three tries in ten minutes and he was swiftly followed by Brandon Atchison and Dan Bonwick who converted his own try to leave the northerners 22-3 clear at the break. Ramsey skipper Matt Meechan added a further try in the second half to make the game safe.

Wins for Emerging Nomads and Western Vikings in Ravenscroft Manx Bowl

Emerging Nomads beat Vagabonds Hornets 50-24 at the Field of Dreams. Jack Fallon picked up a hat trick for Nomads, George Callister ran in two and there were also tries from James Quayle, Ben Quayle and Colin Kelly. George Callister also added five conversions. Tom Rowley was the star for the Hornets. He ran in a hat trick of tries with Mark Young adding their fourth. Rowley and Ed Alderson converted one each.

Western Vikings beat Ramsey B 66-0 at QEII. Jack Goodwin bagged four tries, Ciaran Stephens two with other tries coming from Harry Goodwin, Chris Horton, Josh Hockney and Ollie Creasey. Vikings plater coach Ryan Burke converted eight from ten.
