Celts side also heading across the water for friendly
Report by Dave Christian:
The wheels aren’t exactly off the Douglas wagon just yet in Regional 2 North West, but with five defeats from the last six games they’ve certainly hit a speed bump.
This week they travel to Northwich for another potential banana skin of a game.
Northwich aren’t exactly impregnable at home, however they have knocked off second-placed Sandbach.
Additionally, they only lost by nine points at Port-e-Chee in the reverse fixture.
Douglas had some plus points from their defeat at Burnage last week.
Sheldon Higgins made his debut at full back and was solid and Oli Corkish maintained a scoring run with front row men, Josh Campbell and Si Hoddinott both putting in big shifts.
Craig Martin and Mark Oldfield are both fit again and Nathan Robson is a caged tiger waiting to win back his place.
Douglas only have three home games remaining and desperately need away points to keep up their challenge.
There should also be plenty of support for them with Douglas Celts making the trip too for a friendly against Northwich 3rds.
