Manx team sweeps aside opposition at Heath Road
Report by Dave Christian:
Douglas finally got the away win monkey off their back with an emphatic 36-5 win away at Widnes in Regional 2 North West and now hold seventh place in the standings, tied with Widnes.
Three first half tries and a conversion saw Douglas leading 17-5 at half time with Widnes full back Jack Krause pulling a score back to keep his side in touch.
In the second half though Douglas added another 19 points without reply and claimed a try bonus point to boot.
Eccles visit Port-e-Chee next Saturday for the final game of 2024 and a Douglas win could see them move into the top five, depending of course on other results.
