Event to boost local rugby leagues and LGBTQ community
Mud and mouth guards are being swapped for glitter and glam for an upcoming fundraiser to help boost the local rugby scene.
'Saturgay' - a night of drag, burlesque, booze, comedy and pole dancing - is being put on by the Ladies Vagabonds team to help raise money for fixtures and promote the LGBTQ community.
Since Covid hit, the Manx rugby leagues have taken a pummelling financially, leaving teams on their own to fund everything themselves this season.
Vagas player and event organiser Sophie Henry, coach Jack Caine, and drag queen, the fabulous Vida LaFierce spoke to Rhian Evans:
Saturgay is on at the Vagabonds Rugby Club on 3 October.
Tickets are £25 and can be bought by emailing vagabondladiespride@gmail.com.
