Valkyrs Hockey Club legend Allan Cottier has passed away following a short illness.
The 64 year-old made his debut in 1962 and became a free-scoring forward with a unique style.
He was still playing the game until a few years ago, and was delighted that his sons Stephen and Nick followed into the sport.
He was also a past President and Chairman of Valkyrs, and represented the club at Executive meetings of the Manx Hockey Association for a number of years.
Allan also helped organise Easter and Whit Hockey Festivals.
The Manx Hockey Association, which has it's annual dinner and prize presentation at the Hilton Hotel tomorrow evening, wishes to express it's condolences to the family and friends of Allan Cottier.
