Sailing: Dunn becomes youth aero world champion

Island competitor tops his class during meeting in Germany

A young sailing competitor from the Isle of Man has been crowned a youth world champion following recent competition in Europe.

Isle of Man Yacht Club (IOMYC) member, Teddy Dunn claimed first place in the RS Aero 5 Male U22 category during the Travemunder Woche European and Youth World Championship event held from 17-26 July.

Dunn's total net score in the class of 48 points saw him finish at the summit of those standings ahead of Great Britain's Noah Carden (86) in second and Andrea Carboni of Italy (132) in third.

What's more, another Manx club member also excelled during the event with fellow IOMYC member, Archie Dunn finishing 14th in the RS Aero 5 Male U22 classification on 359 points.

Separately, another Isle of Man Yacht Club competitor, Jimmy Cope took part in the RS Tera (Pro Category) earlier in the same meeting in Germany, finishing 30th in class with a net total of 207.
