Shooting: Bellhouse leads from start to finish

Junior competitor shines throughout English Sporting League second round

The second round of the SUNTERAS GLOBAL English Sporting League was held at Meary Veg Santon with 29 competitors taking part in near ideal conditions.

The leader after the first stand was junior Zac Bellhouse with a full house of 10; in second place on nine were Michael Cross and C class shooter Chris Workman.

Bellhouse was still in the lead after stand two on 18 with Mark Corrin, Workman and Cross in equal-second place on 16. 

Bellhouse stretched his lead after stand three to four, hitting eight for a running total of 26; in second place on 22 were John Moore and Mark Corrin followed by Cross and Kirkpatrick on 21.

It was status quo after stand four with all the top shooters clearing the stand.

So on to the last stand which was a sim pair of a looping rabbit and a running rabbit. 

In C class we had a three-way tie for third place between Brian Kelly, Mark Hepworth and Les Devlin on 26; in second place on 29 was Chris Workman but taking C class in style was Jennie Robertson with a fine score of 35.

We also had a tie for third place in B class between David Morgan and Cobus Van de Berg on 32 with Mark Corrin taking second place on 37 and winning B class with 38 points was junior, Joe Faragher.

It was no difference in A class as we had a tie for third place between Michael Cross and Liam Kirkpatrick on 39; in second place on 41 was John Moore but taking first place in A class and also high gun on the day was junior, Zac Bellhouse with a fine score of 44.

A Class 1st Z Bellhouse jnr 44,2nd J Moore 41,=3rd M Cross ,L Kirpatrick 39.

B Class 1st J Faragher jnr 38,2nd M Corrin 37,=3rd C V Berg, D Morgan 32

C Class 1st J Robertson ldy 35,2nd C Workman 29, =3rd B Kelly, L Devlin, M Hepworth 26

 

Next week is the second and third rounds of the INTACT INSURANCE DTL League with the IOM DTL Championship being incorporated into the event which is shot over 100 targets.
