Faragher and Doyle also take wins in respective classes

The third round of the RIELA YACHTS Sport trap league was held at Meary Veg Santon with 20 shooters taking part in near ideal conditions.

The shoot also had the Dave and Pam Corlett High Gun Cup and the Meary Veg Handicap trophy up for grabs.

With two very different layouts set up by Brian, Will and the two Marks, the first round got under way and at the end of the first-round Peter Kelly was leading on 23 with Liam Kirkpatrick, Juan Cowley and Mark Corrin in equal-second place on 22 followed by Brian Faragher, George Davies, Mark Barnett and Will Rand all on 21.

After a short break the second round got under way and at the end we had the following results.

Third in C class went to Les Devlin with 32 points, in second place on 33 was Mark Sweetman but taking C class with 34 points was Sue Doyle.

We had a tie for second place in B class between John Moore and Mark Barnett with 42 points, but winning B class with 45 points was Brian Faragher.

Peter Kelly was third in A class with 43 points with Juan Cowley taking second place on 44 and winning A class with 45 points was Liam Kirkpatrick.

With Liam and Brian tying for high gun on 45, a shoot-off was required to find a winner for the Dave and Pam Corlett cup.

We also had a tie for the handicap trophy between Julian Ray, Mark Sweetman and Brian Faragher all on 57 points.

In the high gun section, Liam was the winner scoring 21 to Brian's 20 and in the handicap section Julian was the winner with 31.5 points.

 

Results 

A Class 1st L Kirkpatrick 22,23=45, 2nd J Cowley 22,22=44, 3rd P Kelly 23,20=43.

B Class 1st B Faragher 21,24=45,=2nd J Moore 22,20, M Barnett 21,21=42.

C Class 1st S Doyle ldy 18,16=34, 2nd M Sweetman 18,15=33, 3rd L Devlin 15,17=32

High gun cup - L Kirkpatrick 45+21, Handicap 30+27=57+18+13.5=88.5
