Isle of Man taekwondo star Aaron Cook has extended his lead at the top of the global standings, thanks to a silver medal at the World Taekwondo Grand Prix.
Fighting in the -80kg class, he was beaten 13-11 in the final of the tournament in Manchester at the weekend, losing to Iran's Mahdi Khodabakhshi.
There was plenty to cheer in his run to the final, including a stunning knockout of world champion Tahir Guelec in the semi-final, and a win against former world number one Ramin Azizov.
Maintaining a lead at the top of the global standings is vital for the 23-year-old's Rio 2016 Olympic bid, with the World Taekwondo Federation confirming only one fighter per country per division will be permitted to enter.
