John McGuinness from Morecambe came roaring back to winning ways at TT 2011 today (Saturday), taking the six lap Dianese Superbike race by the scruff of the neck and making it his own.
His cause was helped by the retirement of Bruce Anstey, after the Kiwi had taken an early lead.
Anstey fell behind with a slow first pit stop, then called it a day at Quarry Bends, near the Wildlife Park.
Other top names also fell by the wayside, notably Guy Martin who dropped out after holding second place.
Aussie Cameron Donald from Sydney finished second and Gary Johnson was third, despite incurring a time penalty for riding too quickly through the pits.
Charlie Lambert described the end of the race on Manx Radio TT (listen to audio file below):
Conditions were good, but no records were broken.
