Southern Nomads move closer to Trophy

Convincing win for Vagas B

Southern Nomads took a step towards securing the Shimmin Wilson Manx Trophy with a 73-0 romp over Ramsey B.

There were three hat-tricks for Nomads from skipper Mark Young, Adam Young and Rob Craine.

Harry Brereton and Rob Keelan added further tries while Mark Young kicked nine conversions.

Defending champions Western Vikings took another step towards retaining the Shimmin Wilson Manx Bowl with a 103-12 demolition of Castletown.

Kevin Mellor led the way for Vikings with four tries and there was a hat-trick for Oliver Creasey.


Also on the scoresheet were Sam Radcliffe and Alex Gibson with two each, plus Liam Sweeney, Danny McElroy, Jack Goodwin and Harry Goodwin.


Ryan Burke kicked 14 conversions.


Jimbo Emmett and Lewis Jones scored consolations for Town with Marco Santos converting one of them.


Vagabonds’ seconds also moved towards a solid finish to their campaign.


They ran out 58-10 winners over Emerging Nomads in the Bowl.


Vagas led 31-3 at half-time.


Two tries each from Dave Rivers and Callum Donnell and one apiece from Ollie Morris, Ollie Brown, Jordan Watterson and Cameron Finlay and Tommy Rowley, who also kicked four conversions, ensured the gulf.
