Weekend football preview

With leaders St Marys not in action this weekend, Rushen have the chance to go top of the Canada Life Premier League.

They'll have to secure maximum points in their encounter with a Corinthians side who've won three in a row since an opening day defeat to St Georges.

Geordies welcome Laxey on Saturday knowing a win would draw them level on points with Marys, and could even leapfrog them if they win by a big enough margin.

The Miners have made an impressive start to the season but haven't won in three matches.

Peel travel to Douglas Athletic as they look to build on a fine performance last time out which saw them inflict St Georges first loss of the campaign and make amends for their faltering start.

In the day's other top flight games, Marown can make it two wins in succession with victory at the Ballacloan Stadium, against a Ramsey side who are yet to taste victory this term.

Elsewhere, Pulrose will be hoping to earn their first points of the season when they take on Douglas Royal.

All Manx football matches will observe a minute's silence this weekend to commemorate Remembrance Day.
