SPORT: Harrison out of 2023 Southern 100

Manx rider errs on the side of caution following crash

Nathan Harrison has confirmed he won’t be racing in this year’s Southern 100.

Nathan missed this year’s TT after the crash at the NW200 which left him with a broken right collarbone and a hairline fracture to his left arm.

In a post on Instagram, the two time MGP winner, said that he ‘felt really good and surprised myself with my physical fitness and pace considering it was only six weeks since surgery’.

However, he added: ‘Unfortunately we have made the wise decision of pulling out of the Southern 100 races as I don’t feel it’s right going straight to the roads for my first race back, so will continue doing lots of track days and BSB in readiness for the Manx Grand Prix, sure my mum would be happy with that decision too.’

After a difficult year for the Onchan man, it is good to see him back doing what he loves.
