Sports Nominations on Thursday

The nominations for the 2007 Sports Awards will be announced on Thursday lunchtime.

2007 was another outstanding year for Manx sport with many outstanding achievements at World, European and British Championship levels.

There are nine categories - Sportsman, Sportswoman, Isle of Man Ambassador, Team, Disability, Under-21 Male, Under-21 Female, Clubman/Official and Coach.

In addition, a Lifetime Achievement Award will be announced on the Sports Awards evening at the Villa Marina on Thursday 20th March.

Guest of Honour will be former Island resident and Formula One Champion Nigel Mansell.

Isle of Man Sports Council Chairman Geoff Karran says the Sports Awards night is now a firm fixture in the Manx sporting calendar:-
