Stay safe if going for a walk, urge Parish Walk organisers

Annual 85-mile race was scheduled for today

Today would have been the annual Parish Walk, had the event not been cancelled due to coronavirus.

The race was called off in March amid fears about the Covid-19 outbreak.

Organisers have been urging walkers not to take to the course even though social distancing restrictions have been lifted.

Race director Raymond Cox says anyone going for a walk needs to be aware of safety risks:
