Surf Kayaking: Four Manx competitors heading to British Championships

Isle of Man to be among UK's best in Wales this weekend

The Isle of Man is set to take part in high-calibre competition in the sport of surf-kayaking this coming weekend.

Four Manx competitors will head to Wales for the 2023 British Surf Kayaking Championships being held at Freshwater West in Pembrokeshire on Saturday and Sunday (30 September- 1 October).

The event sees Britain's best surf paddlers face off in long boat, short boat and waveski classes across a range of different age categories.

The Island squad is in Wales ahead of the event to familiarise themselves with the venue and make any final equipment adjustments.

Over the last twelve months, the Isle of Man surf kayakers have competed at the World Surf Kayaking Championships in Cornwall in October 2022 before securing affiliation with British Canoeing in January this year with the aim of continuing to develop the sport locally.
