Swift second on Volta a Catalunya opener

Team Sky man misses out in sprint for the line

Team Sky rider Ben Swift finished second on the opening stage of the Volta a Catalunya.

The Onchan resident contested the bunch sprint in Calella, narrowly losing out to Nacer Bouhanni of Confidis on the line.

The tour continues tomorrow, with a stage covering a 179km route from the coastal town of Mataro to Olot, in the northern part of the region.
