Former Island player exits after quarter-final defeat
Former Island tennis star Billy Harris has been knocked out of this year's Eastbourne Open.
Competing in the quarter-final stage this afternoon (26 June) the former Albany and Castletown competitor suffered a straight sets defeat to French fourth seed Ugo Humbert (7-6, 6-1).
Twelve months ago, Harris had reached the semi-final stage of the competition.
Attention for Harris will now turn to the upcoming draw for the Gentlemen's Singles tournament at Wimbledon with the draw itself taking place tomorrow (27 June).
Having previously been a reserve, he replaces Japanese veteran Kei Nishikori who's withdrawn through injury.
