Three in a Row for Manx

The Isle of Man is top of the table at the Cricket European Under-19 Division Two Championship in Belgium.

This morning, they beat Israel by 38 runs in a Twenty20 contest to make it three wins out of the three.

Like the Manx, Israel came into the clash with two victories.

The Island won the toss and decided to bat. A knock of 68 from opener Max Stokoe was the highlight in an impressive display as they closed on 158 for 7 from 20 overs.

Tight bowling right from the start put Israel under severe pressure and they lost wickets at regular intervals.

They did bat for the full 20 overs being all out off the final ball of the match for 120.

The best bowler for the Isle of Man was Alex Stokoe with 3 wickets for 17 runs from his spell.

The table-toppers play Gibraltar in a second game today - Gibraltar have only played once so far and are now the only other side with a 100% record.

The Manx are the lowest ranked side at the tournament - all the other nations are associate members of the sports governing body, the International Cricket Council. The Isle of Man has affiliate status.
