Three in a week for Cav in California

Mark Cavendish sprinted to his third stage win in less than a week on a rain-soaked fifth leg of the Tour of California.

The Manxman finished ahead of Zico Waeytens and third-placed Peter Sagan in a time of three hours, 51 minutes, 37 seconds.

Team Sky rider Peter Kennaugh is enjoying the event in America and is 9th in the General Classification 47 seconds down on the leader.

Today’s (Friday, May 15th) 10.6km time trial has been relocated slightly because of snow.

The eight-stage race finishes on Sunday (May 17th) in Pasadena.
