Top two both hit seven

Promotion race gathers pace

The JCK Division Two promotion race remains thrilling and too close to call.

On Saturday, the top two both hit seven away from home.

Leaders Pulrose won 7-2 at Douglas and District.

A Barry English hat-trick and goals from new signings Marc Priestnal and Stephen Glover, and one each from David Priestnal and Nathan Yates, ensured the prolific Daniel Stewart-Clague’s double were only consolations.

Castletown matched that scoreline to embarrass Union Mills at Garey Mooar.

Hat-tricks from Josh Duncan – his first goals for the club – and Alex Crawley, plus one from Richard Holmes, completed a league double over the Millers, for whom Luke Booth (penalty) and James Lace replied.

With Foxdale not in action, Ramsey Youth Centre took full advantage and moved up to third place.

A 6-0 drubbing of northern rivals Ayre came courtesy of goals from Lewis Moran (two), Steven Grose, Declan Cummins, Aidan Cummins, plus an own goal.

Onchan put five past lowly Michael without reply to keep their hopes alive – Chris Ashbridge (two), Andy Ashbridge, Jack Powell and James Rice were on target.

Marown scored two goals in each half to see off Malew.

Joey Rothwell (two), Sean Shimmin and Ashley Heginbotham were the scorers in a 4-0 triumph.
