Ramsey resident James Toseland equalled his best ever MotoGP finish yesterday.
He finished in sixth place at the Brickyard in Indianapolis in the United States.
Jorge Lorenzo won and halved the lead of team-mate Valentino Rossi in the overall standings after Rossi slid off and was forced to retire.
The gap is now 25 points.
Toseland was delighted with his performance - "It's very pleasing to finish in the top six, I know I'm capable of these sort of results and need to be doing it every weekend. Now I'm really looking forward to Misano next week, a track I know very well from World Superbikes."
