Toseland tenth in San Marino

James Toseland claimed a top ten finish in the San Marino MotoGP yesterday, but felt he could've done a lot better.

The Monster Tech 3 Yamaha rider finished tenth and speaking afterwards blamed a big crash on the first corner, which put paid to his team mate Colin Edwards among others.

"The incident at turn one really split the pack ... without that I think I had a chance of tagging along for a top six finish."

The Ramsey resident is 13th in the standings with 78 points

Meanwhile defending champion Valentino Rossi took another big step towards the title, winning his home race to extend his championship lead over team mate Jorge Lorenzo, who came second, to 30 points.

There is now a four-week break until the next round at Estoril in Portugal, with four races remaining in total.
