FC Isle of Man head into weekend bottom of NWCFL Premier Division

FC Isle of Man are back on their travels this weekend, hoping to lift themselves off of the bottom of the NWCFL Premier Division table.

With just one win in eight so far, 'The Ravens' are on the road at Burscough, a team which has only tasted defeat once so far in their first seven league matches.

FC Isle of Man Manager, Paul Jones says his side took 'plenty of positives' from their last-gasp defeat to league leaders, Padiham six days ago.

And despite the poor start to the current season, he insists there's still a positive atmosphere at the Manx club as they look to improve results:

The Island side is one of four teams which have registered just four points in these early stages of the season but sit at the foot of the table by virtue of goal difference.

What's more, the 21 goals conceded by FC Isle of Man so far is the joint-second worst defensive record in the NWCFL Premier Division right now with Pilkington (24) the only team to have let in more.

In contrast, Burscough head into the weekend with five wins from their last six in all competitions and just one defeat in their first seven league games.

Separately, previous meetings between Burscough and FC Isle of Man have often been high-scoring affairs with 35 goals scored in the six meetings between the teams to date.

Burscough vs FC Isle of Man will take place tomorrow at The Community Ground with kick-off scheduled for 3pm.
