Manx Missile now has two opportunities to pass tour record
Mark Cavendish has fought his way through all the Tour de France mountain stages.
He finished the climb today with a smile on his face knowing that tomorrow and Sunday in Paris offer him the chance to take outright the record for Tour stage wins.
He has also held onto his lead in the green jersey points competition.
He took the jersey on stage four and had held it ever since using points gained in his four wins and by taking sprint points during the stages.
Cav only got into the Tour at the last minute when the Deceuninck-QuickStep number one sprinter Sam Bennett had to withdraw from the event with a knee injury.
