Town dent Pulrose hopes

Pulrose's promotion hopes were virtually ended on Saturday as they were thrashed 4-1 by Castletown.

Brian Carney’s side have enjoyed a good campaign and, in what was always going to be a tough fixture, led at half-time through a Chris Cowin goal.

But their promotion push took a massive dent after the break as Castletown turned on the style to register an impressive victory - Brett Alcotte hitting a double and regular scorer Alex Cawley and Tom Charmer grabbing the others.

Runaway CFS Division Two league champions Colby continued their superb form and maintained their unbeaten record with a 2-0 win at Onchan.

Marty Moore and John Paul were the scorers as Onchan’s outside hopes of qualifying for the Paul Henry Gold Cup were ended.

At the other end of the table, Douglas and District hit seven against Ramsey Youth Centre.

Richard Brant was the main man with a hat-trick with James McIlhagga, John Conroy and Jamie Corrin among the other scorers.

The shares were spoiled at Billy Goat Park as Foxdale and GH Corlett Woods Cup finalists Braddan drew 1-1.

Stephen Oliver found the net for Foxdale with Michael Wheeler the visitors’ marksman.
