Manxman calling it a 'great' result in a 'super strong' field of athletes
Manx triathlete, Will Draper has just missed out on a podium finish at this year's Challenge Forte Village in Sardinia.
The Manx Tri Club member took fourth place in the Challenge Middle Distance race, crossing the line in three hours, 52 minutes and 11 seconds.
Elsewhere, it was two German athletes who claimed the top two spots with Lasse Nygaard Priester taking victory in three hours, 37 minutes and 43 seconds and Lasse Luhrs crossing the line second in three hours, 40 minutes and 20 seconds.
Great Britain's Louis Buttrick completed the top three in third in three hours, 40 minutes and 46 seconds.
On social media after the race, Draper said to be coming into the event as the number one ranked competitor was 'pretty surreal' and describes the result as 'great' in what he calls a 'super strong' field of athletes.
It's already been a strong 2025 campaign for the Island competitor who won the European Long Distance Triathlon Challenge last month and has made two wildcard appearances on the T100 Triathlon World Tour.
