Manxman claims gold in Gran Canaria
Manx professional triathlete Will Draper put in a career-best performance to claim an international victory during the weekend.
Competing at this year's Challenge Gran Canaria on Saturday (26 April) the Island runner took gold in the 70.3 pro race in a time of three hours, 42 minutes and five seconds.
That showing saw him finish ahead of former world and Olympic champion British competitor Jonny Brownlee in second (three hours, 44 minutes and 19 seconds).
Completing the men's top three was Ognjen Stojanovic of Serbia who arrived shortly after Brownlee in three hours, 44 minutes and 46 seconds.
Elsewhere, Poland's Marta Lagownik took victory at the meeting for a second time in four hours, 13 minutes and 28 seconds.
Anne Sophie Pierre of France secured second spot (four hours, 14 minutes and seven seconds) whilst Great Britain was represented on the podium by Daisy Davies who came home third (four hours, 16 minutes)
