TT 2015 underway; pensioner Ted tastes Billown victory

The weather closed in on Saturday night to curtail the first practice session of TT 2015.

After a speed controlled lap for solo and sidecar newcomers, the Lightweight class got a full session under their belts with Ryan Farquhar leading the way at 117.12mph.

James Hillier was quickest through the Sulby speed trap at 156mph.

With rain beginning to fall around various parts around the course, the session was ended early and the F2 Sidecars will have to wait until Monday evening to get their first laps in.

Earlier, Mike Hose won the opening Blackfords pre-TT Classic event, coming home ahead of Mark Herbertson and Bill Swallow in the 350cc class at Billown.

Tim Glover saw him cross the line:

At the ripe old age of 87, Ted Fenwick won the 250cc race from Rod Graham and Henry Bell.

Eddy Wright and Kieran Clark took victory in the opening sidecar race.

Racing resumes at Billown at 1pm on Sunday – full commentary on Manx Radio.
