Andrew Pitt could only manage 13th place at round three of the World Supersport Championship in Valencia yesterday.
It means the Peel resident drops to joint third in the standings having previously led them courtesy of second places in the first two rounds.
The race was won by Cal Crutchlow, who's now level on points with Pitt's Hannspree Ten Kate Honda team mate Kenan Sofuoglu at the top of the standings.
Sofuoglu came third in the race, some nine seconds behind second-placed Anthony West, who finished just a tenth of a second behind Crutchlow.
