Douglas B maintained pole position in the Shimmin Wilson Manx Shield with a 126-7 win against nine man Noa Nomads.

Tom Chamberlain and Charlie Henthorn both ran in four for Douglas.

Defending champions Southern Nomads were made to work very hard for their 36-7 win at Ramsey B.

A Chris Beaumont try, converted by Mark Young, gave them a 7-0 half-time lead.

In the second half, Mark Young, Steve McHugh, Robert Craine and Greg Danes all crossed for Nomads with Young converting to make up the total.

Ramsey’s try came courtesy of Daniel Murray with the conversion from Chris Clague.

Emerging Nomads almost pulled off a shock result at Ballafletcher, just losing out to Vagabonds B 33-29.

Andy Lean, John Walster, Josh Samuels, Gerard Landels and John Ali all touched down for Nomads with Tom Duggan converting three.

Best wishes for a speedy recovery to Nomads’ skipper Dion Meechan who is out for the season after damaging knee ligaments.

Winkie Macleod picked up two tries in his comeback game and there were also tries from Liam Sweeney, Dollin Mercer and Jamie Everett.
