
Vagabonds B retained their hold on the BSM Manx Plate with a tight 10-3 win over Douglas B at a damp and drizzly Mooragh Park.
Tic Connolly gave Vagas a 3-0 with a 16th minute penalty after they piled on the early pressure.
Vagas’ flanker Bryan Kennaugh capitalised on a Douglas error after 31 minutes when he scooped up a loose ball and touched down for the only try of the game. Connolly then added the extras to make it 10-0 at half-time.
Douglas came back in the second half and, after missing two penalties, Andy Jones was successful to bring them back to within a score at 10-3.
However, despite throwing everything at Vagas in the closing stages they were unable to break down the defence.
