Hope it will return next season
Vagabonds' second team has withdrawn from the Shimmin Wilson Manx Shield with immediate effect, the club has confirmed.
The team has often struggled to get enough players for matches this season.
The Manx Executive Committee, which arranges the domestic competitions, says that is a logistical problem.
The committee says the season is however approaching its conclusion and the number of overdue games is building to the point where it may not be possible to fit them in.
With that in mind, Vagas have reluctantly decided to take some action to help the other clubs, the referees and the organising committee.
Club chairman Gordon Leece says this wasn’t a decision taken lightly but one which was both realistic and pragmatic.
He hopes Vagabonds B will be back again next season.
