Wednesday practice yellow flagged

Clerk of Course puts contingency plan in place

Riders could only get in one lap around the Mountain course before the practice was yellow flagged on Wednesday evening.

Poor visibility on the Mountain and an incident involving Dave Sellers at the Gooseneck halted the session early on.

It was confirmed the rider hadn't sustained any serious injuries.

Ian Hutchinson set the pace by recording just short of a 129mph lap on his BMW before the riders were called into the paddock.

Organisers had a contingency plan already in place for when conditions deteriorated as predicted; which would see competitors escorted from the Mountain back to the Grandstand in groups.

Travelling marshals got into position and the revised practice session got underway at 6.57pm.

However, the session was eventually ended just 20 minutes later after helicopter pilots reported difficulty in covering large sections of the course.
