Wins for Douglas and Vagabonds

An outstanding second half performance gave Douglas a bonus point win against Ramsey at Port-e-Chee yesterday (Sat).

Ramsey were very much in the game at half time trailing only 18-14, but four unanswered tries in the second half saw Douglas take maximum points in some style.

Andy Evans and Liam Murphy put Douglas in front early on but Ramsey hit back with tries from Mark Oldfield and Ben Harding to keep in the game. Scott Goodall was on target for Douglas with a conversion and two penalties, while Fintan Cummins kicked to conversions for Ramsey at the other end.

The second half was all one way traffic. Nick Horthuis bagged two tries for Douglas, Callum Carine picked up one and Andy Evans added to his first half tally to round the day off. The immaculate Goodall kicked two second half conversions.
Vagabonds win away

Meanwhile, Vagabonds beat Ellesmere Port 20-0 away from home to end their away campaign on a high.

The Manx side led 10-0 at half time thanks to a try from Ross McCulloch and a penalty and conversion from Jonny Beckley.

In the second half, Vagas added to their total with tries from Mark Howarth and Sam Liver, but were unable to pick up a try bonus point.

There wasn't good news for Vagabonds Ladies though. Their miserable season continued with a 36-0 defeat away at Sheffield in RFUW Championship North 2. The team is yet to win this season.
