Women's basketball numbers continue to rise

Nail-biter of a match in Men's League between Wolves & Jets

Numbers are continuing to rise in the Ladies Basketball League.

More than thirty players, divided into three teams - the Poodles, Bulldogs, and the Terriers - battled it out in the second round of matches at the NSC last night. (5 Nov).

The largest turnout in recent years for the Ladies League.

The Bulldogs were undefeated champions of the night, with Terriers coming in second with one win and one loss.

Poodles, who have yet to bag themselves a win, finished third, however, with a promising side and strength in attack, that is sure to change in Round 3.

Men's League

On the other side of the hall, a tooth and nail fight between the Wolves and the Jets unfolded in the Men's League.

Jets spent the majority of the game hot on the heels of Wolves, with bodies from each side frequently hitting the deck in a match that would have spectators on the edge of their seats.

Wolves managed to cling to victory thanks to some swish three-pointers by Michael Pardoe, with the final score finishing 64-57 in Wolves favour.
