A Manx teenager is waking up a European champion this morning (Monday).
Yasmin Ingham, 16, of Greeba had a perfect day at the European Pony Championships at Arezzo, Italy.
Representing Great Britain, she jumped clear under immense pressure to clinch individual gold, as well as team gold, with her pony, Craig Mor Tom, moving up from overnight bronze medal position.
She was competing in the combined 12 to 16 age group for boys and girls.
Closer to home, 17-year-old cyclist Anna Christian of Douglas won the British Women’s National Junior Road Race title.
She got away in a group of 12 riders on the opening lap of the Ryedale GP in North Yorkshire, eventually edging ahead to win convincingly.
