Youth Centre extend lead; tight at the top

Ramsey Youth Centre have extended their advantage at the top of JCK Division Two.

A first half blitz sealed a 4-0 win at bottom club Ronaldsway, courtesy of goals from Jamie Brew, Robert Mooreton, Steven Grose and Mark Faragher, to move them three points clear.

The big game of the day ended all-square as second placed Colby and Michael drew 1-1.

James Collett fired the southerners ahead early in the second half only for an own goal to ensure Michael, the division’s long-time leaders, earned a share of the spoils.

A last minute winner from Gareth Gawne kept Douglas Royal in fourth spot in a seven goal thriller.

He added to Paul Whitley’s hat-trick as Royal exacted revenge for a Woods Cup defeat to Pulrose earlier in the campaign.

Barry English, Kenny Cowin and Aaron Raby had earlier put Pulrose into a 3-1 lead.

Ayre United remain fifth but in pole position to qualify for the Paul Henry Gold Cup.

A Jason Craine brace, James Teare and Phil Quayle goals fired them to a 4-2 success at Onchan, for whom Greg Taylor netted both.
