Call to review election organisation

An experienced politician has called for a review of last month's general election.

MLC David Cretney believes the operation and organisation of elections need examining, with recommendations for future practice.

There were ballot box blunders in Garff and Ayre and Michael, while polling cards were initially issued in Ramsey detailing the wrong polling stations.

Mr Cretney, who is asking Tynwald to form a committee, says rather than conduct a finger-pointing exercise, such an assessment would help avoid similar mistakes in future.
