Areas outside Manx waters "trawled with impunity"

The Island has been very proactive in recent years in protecting its seas, regulating fishing and setting up Marine Reserves.

That's the view of the Marine Conservation Society's Principal Specialist on Marine Protected areas.

Dr Jean-Luc Solandt was speaking as the UK recently designated 41 new Marine Conservation Zones.

He says unfortunately, it's the areas outside of Manx waters which have been over-fished for too long.
