Fourteen-time winner missed out on racing last year after crash

Peter Hickman says he's feeling confident ahead of his latest campaign at the Isle of Man TT Races in 2026.

The 14-time winner will be the only rider representing 8TEN Racing this year as his co-owner and teammate, Davey Todd has been ruled as medically unfit to race.

Hickman endured a challenging TT back in 2025 after an incident in qualifying ruled him out of all of last year's races.

Speaking to Manx Radio, he says he has full belief in the team and the bike, and that it would mean 'more than anything' to stand on the top step again:

For 2026, Hickman will once again contest all four solo classes.

He will pilot 8TEN Racing BMW machinery in the 1000cc classes and will compete for Trooper Triumph by PHR Performance in the Supersport contests.

Outside of those, he's set to campaign a Yamaha R7 for the Swan Racing by PHR Performance squad in the new-look Sportbike TT category.

Twelve months ago, Hickman began TT qualifying challenging at the front of the pack until he was involved in a crash at Kerrowmoar on 30 May in a Superbike/Superstock qualifying session.

The injuries he sustained as a result of that incident saw him have to withdraw from the remainder of the meeting.

In 2024, his TT campaign also ended in challenging circumstances when he was involved in a crash at Ginger Hall whilst leading the Senior race that year - in that incident, he suffered only minor injuries and walked away from the scene.

Despite those moments, Hickman remains one of the dominant figures of the TT in recent years - along with his 14 wins to date - a tally which is equal to that of TT legend, Mike Hailwood - he also remains the outright lap record holder on the Snaefell Mountain Course with a lap speed of 136.358mph set in the Superstock TT Race 2 in 2023.

His most recent win at the racing fortnight was during the 2024 Superbike TT race.

What's more, Hickman has not finished outside of the top-ten in any race that he's finished at the TT since 2015.

The 2026 Isle of Man TT Races are due to take place from Monday, 25 May to Saturday, 6 June
