Exploring Island Heritage - Tuesday, 16th October 2018

As we continue to explore aspects of the Island’s heritage, this week we’re finding out about changing nature of the Island’s natural history, and managing the land for conservation and public access.

We’ll hear from Curator of Natural History for Manx National Heritage Laura McCoy about the Island’s wildlife past and present, and the diversity of the landscape.

We’ll also take a trip to the Maughold Brooghs to find out about the land in the care of the Manx Museum and National Trust, and how it’s managed, from Properties Manager Shaun Murphy.

And a visiting specialist in management planning for nature conservation, Mike Alexander, discusses the progress that’s been made on the Calf of Man, and the value of conservation in areas like it.
