Women Today: live (and arrested!) from Braaid Village Hall

Today saw the launch of our Village Halls series, and what a wonderful way to start.

We visited Braaid Hall and met some of the fantastic people who make this a true community hub.  Established back in 1937, it has a long and eventful history and this weekend sees one of the highlights with the famous Braaid Eisteddfod!

A host of guests joined us - from Dot Tilbury to Allan Willcocks - to reminisce and we were also treated to an impromptu song.  You can find videos and photographs on Manx Radio's Facebook page and you can listen back to the show for the next week here.

And if you would like us to bring the show to your local village hall, email us at womentoday@manxradio.com

Post script, something rather unexpected - and 'arresting' happened to us at the end of the programme...

An 'arresting' show from Braaid Hall!

Live at the Braaid Hall - Part Three #iom. With thanks to Culture Vannin for providing some wonderful audio clips of Braaid Eisteddfods past. Towards the end of the video, you can see Beth and Christy being “arrested” by the IOM Police Youth Scheme...!
